Photography has been an interest of mine since the late 1970s. During that time, a lot of time was spent in the darkroom producing black and white images. I still remember how I was always so fascinated by how the image slowly emerged on the paper while it lay in it's chemicals. After a long break, I got back into photography at the end of the 1990s, when the first digital cameras entered the market. Over the years, I have devoted myself mostly to macro and nature photography.
In recent years I have spent a lot of time developing my photography after a long period of a lack of inspiration. My philosophy today is to use mainly nature to create art. When I arrive at a location, I first want to feel and take in the environment. Slowly let it emerge what nature in this particular place has to offer. What can I discover outside of the ordinary, the expected? Although I have used digital cameras for many years, I have found it valuable to approach photography as if I were using an analog camera with film. I find it helps me to be more patient and empathetic. Somehow I also gain a greater respect for the environment.
